1. What climate range do you prefer year-round?
(Be as specific as possible)

  • Tropical (hot + humid)
  • Mediterranean (mild, dry summers)
  • Temperate (4 seasons)
  • Cool / mountain

Climate impacts comfort, health, energy costs, and overall lifestyle.

2. Do you prefer urban, suburban, or rural living?

  • Major city → higher cost, better healthcare and amenities
  • Smaller city → balanced lifestyle
  • Rural → lower cost, fewer services

3. How important is access to high-quality healthcare?

  • Critical (top-tier hospitals, English-speaking doctors)
  • Moderate
  • Basic acceptable

This helps eliminate locations that may not meet your needs.

4. Are you looking for a long-term residency option or flexible stays?

  • Permanent residency / retirement visa
  • Temporary stays (e.g., 90–180 day cycles)

Immigration rules can be a major factor in location viability.

5. What level of cultural or language adaptation are you comfortable with?

  • English-speaking only
  • Comfortable learning basics
  • Fully open to immersion

6. What type of lifestyle are you looking for?

  • Quiet / slow pace
  • Balanced
  • Active / social / nightlife / expat-heavy

7. How important is proximity to the U.S.?

  • Frequent visits (within ~5–8 hour flights)
  • Occasional visits
  • Not important

8. What is your risk tolerance (political, economic, infrastructure)?

  • Low → more stable, typically higher cost countries
  • Medium → emerging but stable regions
  • High → lower cost, but less predictable environments
